Are the last days really here? A good question it is indeed! Throughout the entire Bible we find mention of 'the last days'. There is a purpose for these signs. They reveal that the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is very near.
Paul writes this in 2 Timothy 3:1: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come". Well, let us keep reading in verses 2 and 3: "For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
When I was a child it seemed like everyone was your brother and friend. Now people as a whole are totally forgetting about the person next to them. It is a 'me first' world anymore. Look at road rage as an example. People covet or crave (desire) want what their neighbor has. It is common to hear bragging and boasting, and to show how proud we are. And, yes, let us not forget cursing God and Jesus, using their names and titles in vain, which should be very, very sacred. The scriptures say not to take the Lord's name in vain. Many do this with every sentence coming from their lips.

Children's being disobedient to parents is on the rise at an alarming pace. People seem to be angrier at the least of things anymore. Domestic violence for example is going through the roof. Promises used to be done and honored with a handshake. Now promises are easily broken even when signed in ink. It is common to meet people who want bad things to happen; they hate the good.
Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Does this ring true! For men, the desire is to get the boat out on Sunday morning, or going fishing or hunting than to go somewhere to hear the Gospel taught. For women, it is day trips and the flea markets. The love of God has taken a back seat to the love of pleasures.
We could continue on mentioning the things we left out like: unthankful, traitors, etc. But now everyone is starting to get the picture. Things are a lot worse in this world then it was even in the 1950's. In the 70's and 80's there were still some stability in some of these areas, but morality was going on the decline then too. Today a person has to be careful in how they look at others for fear of being shot or stabbed.
