Church Charter Guidelines

Since we are not a mail order church or ministry chartering service, there are some criteria in which any ministry seeking a charter in affiliation with SWHM must agree to:

1. It is a must that your church be of Christian orientation of faith, fully believing and teaching the whole Bible as the inspired Word of God, upholding Godly morals and principles, and having the attributes of such. We do not condone anything that our Lord would not condone. If this is an outreach mission and does not claim a Christian identity for funding reasons or other reasons not stated, the reason(s) must be clarified before acceptance.

2. Your church should come in agreement with our Statement of Faith, its Guiding Principles (same page)

3. An application for affiliation with SWHM must be submitted by the leadership of your church for review by our ministerial staff, and it must be filled out completely before submitting it for review.

4. If you have an established church with regular worship services, we ask for at least one taped message and/or sermon to be sent along with the application. A variety of taped messages will further help us make a final decision.

5. We expect your church to sow into SWHM on a regular basis to be used for the continuing effort to spread the gospel. Using what the apostle Paul speaks of in 1 Corintians 9:11: "we sow into you spiritual things should we not reap carnal(material) things?". Paul was referring to the church sowing financially into his ministry so he could continue the ministry given him. Why? Because he sowed into the church spiritual things.

6. If your ministry has not yet been established, we request a letter and other documentation explaining how it will be established including any foreseen future expansion processes within the next five years.

7. No one is permited to use our ministry name in its full state and in its abbreviated state, because each carry service marks. The "sm" (Service marks) signify that SWHM, and its full name SpringWell of Hope Ministries, Intl is in the process of applying for Trademark status. We suggest you use your current ministry name or one that you feel God has given you.

8. SWHM DOES permit churches, ministries, and outreach missions to use its name (such as SpringWell of Hope Congo), but it is not necessary to change the present ministry name. If a ministry desires to use our name, a request needs to be made in writing and we will gladly permit it. If you use your present name, we do ask that the following is placed somewhere on the ministry signage: affiliated with SpringWell of Hope Ministries, or something of the like (initials may be used). The letters can be as small as 1 1/2 to 2 inches in height and can be in any style and color as long as the words are recognizable from at least than 25 feet away.

9. There is a $60.00 (US dollars) non-refundable processing fee payable to SWHM, and is to be sent along with the application. Every year thereafter you will be given an opportunity to renew the charter with SWHM. At such time of renewal, SWHM will request that each organization sow financially in the amount of $50.00 to help further the efforts of our ministry.

10. We recommend that each organization, whether church or other type of ministry, write down your own vision statement. This are a few paragraphs of what you feel the Spirit of the Lord is directing you to do. If your organization is considering becoming incorporated be sure to incorporate it as religious and/or non profit only if it is either, of a (1) religious orientation and only if it is to be considered a (2) non profit organization.

11. SWHM will assist any minister who is ordained through us in certain aspects of establishing a church or other ministry or mission. This comes in the form of guidance as to procedures and protocol.

12. SWHM does not have a blanket coverage 501-c-3 status yet. If your church is chartered through us and you wish to be covered through the blanket coverage then we ask you to help us obtain the finances for such.

13. Each ministry will be independent in nature and will be required to develop, acquire and keep its own set of financial records, as well as obtain any licenses, permits, articles of incorporation, bylaws, and other documents so deemed by the officers of the ministry being chartered.
